Tire measurement device consist of a piezoelectric fiber that acts as a sensor element for measuring tire operating variables. The inventive device also has a transmitter for transmission of sensor signals, with the energy for the transmitter derived from the electrical energy generated by the fiber. Optimally a network of fibers is formed into a grating or mesh that is incorporated in the steel reinforcing belt.
