The metal hub (1) may be made of steel or aluminum alloy. It is shaped like a brake drum with a radial wall (1a) with holes (3) for fastening bolts and a flange (1b) with outward-extending teeth (1c) at its edge. Each tooth as made of two tapered sectors (5,6) side-by-side, with a T-shaped slit (7) separating them. The disk (2) may be made of a carbon-ceramic material. It has a thick outer portion and a castellated inner flange (2a) with the teeth on the hub engaging the slots between the inward projections.
