<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive safety device not to lower a facility operation rate in a system to carry out work by an automatic machine. <P>SOLUTION: A robot RB, etc. stop in the case when a safety fence 2 and a photoelectric sensor 1 are effective and the safety fence 2 is opened or the photoelectric sensor 1 is interrupted while the robot RB is in the middle of practicing work to take out a work from a work container 2. The robot RB can work when the safety fence 1 and the photoelectric sensor 2 are ineffective. Each of workability display lamps of work supply switch boxes 1, 2 is put on and off. A working area access switch of the box 1 is made into an ON state and a workability signal at the side of the work container 1 for the robot RB is put OFF in the case when a worker carries out exchange work of the work container 1.
