<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable rotation control by other hall elements when abnormality occurs in a Hall element for controlling rotation of a driving motor for deflecting the optical axis direction of a headlight. <P>SOLUTION: When abnormality occurs in part of a plurality of Hall elements H1, H2 and H3 used for controlling a rotation position of the driving motor 42 for deflecting the optical axis of this headlight device, a rotation condition recognizing means 437 recognizes a rotation position of the driving motor 42 based on the detection output of the plurality of remaining Hall elements and a predetermined angle predicting time calculated from a rotation period of the driving motor 42. Rotation of the driving motor can be normally controlled also when abnormality occurs in the part of the Hall elements, and appropriate optical axis deflecting control can be secured in the headlight device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
