摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel consumption by operating an engine mounted on a hybrid vehicle at a lean limit without increasing torque fluctuation. <P>SOLUTION: In the hybrid vehicle operated by distributing an output of the engine to a generator and an axle at a predetermined ratio, the fluctuation of the generating power is detected during operation of the engine in a quasi-steady state. If the engine is being operated in the quasi-steady state, the torque fluctuation of the engine appears in the fluctuation of the generating power. If the operation air/fuel ratio of the engine is controlled based on the fluctuation of the generating power, the engine can be operated at the lean limit without increasing the torque fluctuation, and the fuel consumption can accordingly be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
