<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anode active substance for a non-aqueous electrolyte rechargeable battery, having battery characteristics as superior charging and discharging characteristics and discharging voltage flatness, and to provide the non-aqueous electrolyte rechargeable bettery, using the anode active substance. <P>SOLUTION: As the anode active substance, a compound which is expressed as Ma<SB>x</SB>Mb<SB>y</SB>P<SB>2</SB>O<SB>z</SB>(in the formula, Ma represents Na or Li; Mb represents a transition metal, which has a valency of four or larger and exists stably; and 0≤x≤4, 0.5≤y≤3, 6≤z≤14, where z less than 8 is excluded, when Ma is Li.) is used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
