<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily remove a jammed medium. <P>SOLUTION: A printer is provided with an upper unit 43 fixed to the printer main body 41, a lower unit 44 arranged so that it can freely rock with respect to the printer main body 41 and a medium carrying path is formed between the upper unit 43 and the lower unit when the lower unit is placed in a 1st position and the carrying path is open when the lower unit is placed in a 2nd position, and equipped with a 1st roller for carrying the medium, a 2nd roller arranged to be in contact with the 1st roller, an energizing means for energizing the 2nd roller to the 1st roller, and a jamming releasing means for separating the 2nd roller from the 1st roller when the lower unit 44 is placed in the 2nd position. When the lower unit 44 is placed in the 2nd position, the 2nd roller is separated from the 1st roller by the jamming releasing means, then, a gap is formed between the 1st and 2nd rollers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
