<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin with high heat resistance and low specific gravity without detracting from desirable surface properties contributing to a good appearance and ease of metallization. <P>SOLUTION: A metallized resin molded article in which a portion of the surface of the article is metallized consists essentially of about 80 to about 99.9 wt.%, based on the total weight of the resin composition, of a crystallizable polyester resin derived from 2-10C aliphatic or cycloaliphatic diols or mixtures thereof and one or more kinds of aromatic dicarboxylic acids in which the aromatic group is a 6-20C aryl radical and the remaining amount consisting essentially of one or more kinds of nucleating agents and <about 5 wt.% of additional ingredients based on the total weight of the resin composition. The metallized molded article of a composition of the crystallizable polyester resin and one or more kinds of nucleating agents has >160°C heat deflection temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
