PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily drilling a dovetail pin fitted in a turbine rotor, and detaching the dovetail pin. SOLUTION: The method for detaching a pin 16 from a hole 26 includes a step (a) of drilling a first hole having the first diameter in the pin 16 of one selected portion of the length dimension of the pin, and trying to detach the pin, a step (b) of drilling a second hole 32 having a second diameter smaller than the first diameter in an extended portion of the length dimension of the pin if the pin 16 cannot be detached, and a step (c) of detaching the pin.
