PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation, for external use such as a cosmetic or an external medicine, which has high safety and affinity for the skin, can maintain a moisture-retaining effect over a long time. SOLUTION: This preparation for external use is characterized by containing fibroin originating from wild silkworm. The average mol. wt. of the fibroin originating from the wild silkworm is preferably 100,000 to 250,000. The preparation preferably further contains one or more polysaccharides, and/or one or more plant extracts, and/or one or more polyhydric alcohols, and furthermore one or more fats or fatty oils. Since, the fibroin originating from the wild silkworm can be emulsified without a surfactant, the preparation can become an emulsified one without using a surfactant. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
