PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throw-away tip and a cutting tool for preventing causing of chipping at the knife edge. SOLUTION: This throw-away tip is formed by joining a knife edge chip 9 made of PCD to a base material made of cemented carbide. Especially, a chamfered part 23 is provided to extend linearly from a curved part 21 on the sub-knife edge 19 side, seen from the cutting face 5 side between the main cutting blade 17 and the sub-cutting blade 19 in the knife edge chip 9. The corner part 24 on the cutting face 5 side of the chamfered part 23 is provided with a chamfer 25 formed linearly along the chamfered part 23. Further, seen from the cutting face 5 side, the distance (t) from the intersection K of the extension line of the chamfered part 23 and the main cutting blade 17 to the extension line of the sub-cutting blade 19 is 0<t≤2.0 mm, the angleαmade between the sub-cutting blade 19 and the chamfered part 23 is 0<α≤80°, and the radius R(nose R) of the curved part 21 provided between the sub-cutting blade 19 and the chamfered part 23 is 0.8 mm or more.
