PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working method of a metallic band for painted cans excellent in formability by which ironing is performable without failure even when it is a metallic band having a resin base paint layer on the side equivalent to the outside of a can. SOLUTION: In a working method of the metallic band for painted cans excellent in formability, the board thickness reduction rate R for the n-th stage die is set to R≤(n-1)×10+50 (%) when the metallic band which is coated with paints containing inner wax on the side equivalent to the outside of a can of the metallic band for cans, is subjected to multistage can processing.
