PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cleaning contaminated soil for rapidly performing cleaning treatment by improving the efficiency of ground water circulation in a treatment region. SOLUTION: A prescribed area of the contaminated soil 10 is surrounded by an impervious wall 20. The area enclosed by the impervious wall 20 is provided with excavation holes 10a, 10b and 10c, and permeable materials 30a, 30b and 30c are packed into the holes. A pumping-up pipe 42 is inserted into the excavation hole 10b to pump up the ground water, which is then supplied to the surrounding permeable materials 30a and 30c so as to permeate into the ground, thereby completing ground water circulation.
