Process for desulfurizing flue gas from a power station involves burning fuel with combustion ash as additive with the introduction of combustion air. The additive contains at least 40 wt.% lime (CaO). An Independent claim is also included for a process for operating a combustion plant of a coal power station having a melting chamber furnace.
