The double taper roller bearing for a bevel pinion (3.1) has two rows of rollers with their narrow ends facing each other. The races of the two parts of the bearing (2a,2b) are of different diameters and the inner races fit on different diameter (3a,3b) parts of the pinion shaft (3). The outer races are mounted in two different diameter parts of a bearing shell (2) fitting in a housing (1) and fastened against axial movement or turning. There are channels (9a,9b) for admission of lubricating oil.
