The device (1) comprises a casing with side walls and a base, a gas pipe with exit holes located inside the casing, a container (3) in which animals are placed and a lifting device for the container. The lifting device comprises a frame (7) which is secured to the container and allows the latter to move between a first input position when the container is introduced into the device and a second middle position. An operating system (5) on the outside of the device is used to control the gas supply and lift. An independent claim is also included for the lifting device, comprising a frame connected to a motor-driven chain (9) with a horizontal bar (10) for supporting a surface on the frame as the latter is moved along the chain.
