<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly flexible and convenient image forming apparatus in which security is surely attained as needed while being opened for general utilization and erroneous operations caused by too much functionality are prevented. <P>SOLUTION: A vein pattern and a fingerprint of an operator recognized by a vein pattern recognizing means 112 and a fingerprint recognizing means 113 are collated with a vein pattern and a fingerprint registered beforehand by individuals in a recognition data storage means 114 by a collation means 115 and only when identity of the operator and an individual registered in advance is confirmed, functions of the apparatus are operated. A function for limiting operations or a function available for a specific individual may be limited. When registering a vein pattern or a fingerprint or when limiting any function, a predetermined ID input is requested. When outputting an image from a connected terminal or when displaying out information stored in a storage means from the connected terminal, a vein pattern and a fingerprint are also requested as ID. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
