VIDEO AND AUDIO SIGNAL RECORDING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional technology that the write processing of an apparatus for recording data to a storage medium such as a memory card is failed so long as the data are not recorded at a speed not in excess of a data transfer speed of the memory card because the data transfer speed of the memory card may be different depending on the recording capacity even when a type and a manufacturer of the card are the same in the recording medium such as the memory card.

SOLUTION: The video and audio signal recording apparatus includes: the memory card 9; and a transfer speed discrimination means 10 for discriminating a data transfer speed, and the transfer speed discrimination means 10 discriminates the data transfer speed depending on the recording capacity of the memory card 9. When the apparatus generates data to be written in the memory card 9, the apparatus restricts the data transfer speed of the memory card 9 so as not to exceed the data transfer speed of the memory card 9 on the basis of the discrimination result.
