PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid molding apparatus which can manufacture a lid having shape holding properties by processing a packaging material sheet made of a resin, especially, a lid molding apparatus not having a heating mechanism, and a method for molding a lid made of the resin having shape holding properties. SOLUTION: In the lid molding apparatus having a lid material punching means for punching at least one lid material from a sheetlike packaging material and a lid molding means having a molding die 7 and a former both of which mold the lid material punched by the lid material punching means, many grooves 73 or projections are formed on the inside surface of 71 of the molding die 7 and/or many grooves or the projections are formed on the outside surface of the former.
