PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IP packet processing method by which protocol processing can be easily created and protocol processing independent of a platform can be realized. SOLUTION: An IP datagram received by a LAN apparatus 4 is transmitted to a device control program 23, and is transferred to an encapsulation processing 221 of an IP packet encapsulation program 22. The processing 221 refers to the transferred IP datagram and executes the encapsulation processing to generate a new IP datagram. When receiving the encapsulated IP datagram, a protocol control program 21 fetches the user data portion, and transmits the fetched user data portion to a protocol processing application 3.
