PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone unit capable of detecting DTMF signals on a plurality of lines by means of one DTMF receiver. SOLUTION: The telephone unit includes: the DTMF receiver 2 capable of receiving DTMF signals from a plurality of the lines L1, L2; DTMF presence/absence detection circuits 5, 6 for detecting in which of a plurality of the lines the DTMF signal arrives; and a central processing unit 1 for receiving a caller ID generated from the DTMF signal in the DTMF receiver and controlling the entire telephone unit.
