Arrangement for fixing the end (20) of a seat belt on an end mounting (10) anchored in a vehicle connects the belt end to a separate force- limiting belt (13). The force-limiting belt looped with a belt end layer (14) through a guide slit formed in the end mounting is, before force limiting is effected, arranged with its loop lying in a double-layer arrangement on one side of the mounting so that the loop end (16) lies a distance away from the guide slit. At least one protrusion arranged on the end of the mounting penetrates the two layers (14, 15) of the force-limiting belt and separates the two layers of the belt in the longitudinal direction of the force-limiting belt on displacement of the force-limiting belt relative to the end mounting following loading. A material weakness (17) is formed in both layers of the force-limiting belt along the movement path of the protrusion through the force liming belt.
