<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To balance the ratio of the load of a pair of switching devices 21, 22 and to reduce the degree of a load. <P>SOLUTION: This inverter device comprises an inverter circuit 200 and a chopper circuit 100. One switching device 21 of the inverter 200 is used as a chopper switch for the chopper circuit 100. The pair of switching devices 21, 22 which determine the control characteristics of a switching control circuit 29 belonging to the inverter circuit 200 so as to shorten an on-state period T21 of the switching device 21 of using the switch for the chopper side and lengthen an on-state period T22 of the other switching device 22 bear the load involved in an inverter operation. A difference of a largely load/ a small load is given by changing the duty of each switching device 21, 22.
