PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control an image pickup device or an electronic apparatus connected to a mobile terminal by utilizing an existing communication function to execute remote control without changing a fundamental structure of the mobile terminal. SOLUTION: The controller 10 is constituted of a control part 11, an I/F part 12 for mobile terminal, and an external apparatus output I/F part 13. When the mobile terminal to which the controller 10 is connected receives an electronic mail including wording for control, which is transmitted from a terminal located in a remote place, the control part 11 analyzes the text of the electronic mail and generates a control signal based on an analysis result. The control part 11 outputs the generated control signal, and it is supplied to an image pickup device or other I/O apparatus 30 of a mobile phone 2 to control them. Thus the image pickup device and other I/O apparatus 30 are remotely controlled from the terminal located in a remote place. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
