PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of recorded information when RAW data of both low sensitivity image data and high sensitivity image data are recorded in a memory. SOLUTION: A solid state imaging device 10 for taking a picture of an object and generating high sensitivity image data and low sensitivity image data, and a compression processing circuit 14 for compressing the low sensitivity image data by using a correlation between the high sensitivity image data and the low sensitivity image data, are provided. The compressed data of the low sensitivity image data which has been compressed by the compression processing circuit 14, and the high sensitivity image data, are recorded as RAW data in a memory 15. The amount of recorded information can be reduced as compared with a case, in which the low sensitivity image data is not compressed and stored in the memory 15. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
