PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display having a screen opening/closing mechanism to safely and efficiently carry out the maintenance and checkout work. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display 40 having a screen 42 in front of a display panel 41, a conveying rail 51 to guide a pulley of a screen conveying mechanism 47 disposed on the screen 42 and a supporting member 52 to support the conveying rail 51 are detachably attached to the display. The screen 42 can be conveyed via the pulley along the conveying rail 51 and can be detached from the display panel 41 while keeping the screen 42 almost vertical and preventing the liquid crystal display 40 from falling. When the screen 42 is detached, a work space can be secured in front of the liquid crystal display 40. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
