<p>A storage system including a shelf (26) and bracket (20) item holder which is supported upon a planar panel (8). The shelf (26) has two end edges (60) and two shelf-brackets( 30) which include a substantially circumferential flange (35), a receptacle portion (40) for receiving one of the end edges (40) of the shelf (26), and an upper panel catch (48) projecting outwardly from a same side of the circumferential flange (35) in aligned spaced relation to one another. A cantilevered lock -release latch (54) is positioned adjacent to the lower panel-catch (49). When each of the upper (48) and lower (49) panel-catches are inserted through and occupy a corresponding one of the perforations (9) in the panel (8) such that the lock-release tabs (56) of the lock -release latches (54) engage the outer surface of the perforated panel (8) thereby deflecting the lock-release latches (54) away from the perforated panel (8), the shelf (26) and brackets (30) are moved relative to the perforated panel (8). This movement causes the lock-tabs (52) to engage the rear surface of the perforated panel (8) and the lock-release tabs (56) of the lock -release (54) latches to slide along the front surface and slip into the respective perforations (9) occupied by the lower panel catches (49). This, in turn, allows the lock-release latches (54) to spring-back and the lock-release tabs (56) to enter the perforations (9) occupied by their respective lower panel catches (49) so as to secure the bracket (30) in locked engagement with the perforated panel (8).</p> |
