摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid lowering of display quality in a transmission region T due to a domain generated in a liquid crystal layer 40 region corresponding to a shadow part of a protruding part with respect to rubbing without sacrificing the opening ratio of the transmission region T in a transflective liquid crystal display device in which the respective pixels have a reflection region R and the transmission region T wherein layer thickness Rd of the liquid crystal layer 40 in the reflection region R is made smaller than layer thickness Td of that in the transmission region T due to the protruding part provided for the respective pixels. <P>SOLUTION: The protruding part is not provided on a TFT substrate 20 but provided on a CF substrate 10. An end part of the protruding part 15 on the downstream side of a rubbing direction is disposed by shifting it to the upstream side of the rubbing direction with respect to a pixel electrode part 21 for reflection of the TFT substrate 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
