<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To house an open type culture vessel in a sterile condition. <P>SOLUTION: The box 1 for housing the culture vessel is equipped with an openable box body 10 having an internal space S and a filter part 20 provided in four parts of the sides of the box body 10. The filter part 20 is a pore filter which passes through a gas, but does not pass through any microorganism. In the box 1 for housing the culture vessel, the open type culture vessel 30 is housed in an internal space S of the box body 10 in a sterilizing operation area and then, the box body 10 is closed to make the internal space S in the sterile condition. As a result, since the filter part 20 passes through the gas, but does not pass through any microorganism even if the box 1 is carried to the outside of the sterilizing operation area, the internal space S is kept in the sterile condition.
