PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment and an external connection structure which are capable of preventing battery consumption simply and inexpensively in the case that an external connecting device is connected to the electronic equipment. SOLUTION: A battery housing room 22 and a USB jack 24 are arranged in the storage area 20A of a battery housing part 20. Only when a battery cover 19 is in an open state, a USB cable 30 can be connected to the USB jack 24. That is, by a mechanical structure such that the battery housing part 20 and the USB jack 24 are arranged inside the storage area 20A, battery runout is prevented while a camera 10 and a printer are being used, and hence processing of data transfer is reliably performed. Thus, it is possible to prevent the buttery consumption (the battery runout) simply and inexpensively by the mechanical structure when the USB cable 30 is connected to the camera 10 and the printer, since the battery housing part 20 opened and closed with the battery cover 19 and the USB jack 24 are arranged inside the storage area 20A of the battery housing part 20.
