PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely eject by securing a meniscus of ink in a plurality of nozzles by suppressing an excessive space even when a recording medium is to be conveyed in a direction of gravity. SOLUTION: A recording head 5 having the plurality of nozzles arranged to record an image on a recording medium by ejecting ink, is held such that the arrangement direction of the plurality of nozzles intersects the horizontal direction. An intermediate tank 10 that receives the ink from an ink tank 9 to supply it to the nozzles of the recording head 5 has a structure that contracts or expands corresponding to the quantity of the ink stored therein. A direction perpendicular to a predetermined extracting and expanding direction is inclined by 30°-60°with respect to the direction of gravity. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
