PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval system, a retrieval method and a retrieval program, relating to a retrieval result display technology in character retrieval or image retrieval, and allowing an operator to extract a page including a retrieval key and to easily visually recognize arrangement or the like of an object fit for the retrieval key in the page. SOLUTION: This retrieval system has: a retrieval key specification means 111; a retrieval means 112 extracting the page including the object fit for the retrieval key from a retrieval target; a reduced simplified image generation means 113 generating a reduced simplified image characterized such that a portion of the object can be distinguished from other portions; and a reduced simplified image display means 115 having a function for displaying the reduced simplified image generated by the reduced simplified image generation means.
