PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially easy method for selectively removing dioxins from hydrochloric acid solution containing dioxins regardless of coexisting substances of organic matters, inorganic salts or ions even when the solution contains these. SOLUTION: The refining method is carried out by bringing a hydrochloric acid solution containing dioxins and hydrochloric acid into contact with granular activated carbon and then separating the activated carbon to remove dioxins. A high purity hydrochloric acid aqueous solution and a hydrochloric acid derivative are manufactured by the above method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
