The invention concerns a sterilizing unit for food, pharmaceutical and like products, packaged in rigid or soft containers, comprising at least an autoclave (1) adapted to receive, through at least an access door (10, 11) and by means of a loading/unloading unit (23, 24, 25), at least a container (12) wherein are arranged said packages. Advantageously, the autoclave (1) is vertically arranged and comprises internally vertical conveying means (5, 6, 7) designed to be subjected, by means of motoring means (8, 9) for loading and unloading them in a step-by-step forward movement through the access door(s) for containers in the form of shelves (12, 13).
