<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel alkaline protease having low homology to an alkaline protease for detergents or conventional true subtilisine in an amino acid sequence without affecting stability to heat or pH with calcium ions. <P>SOLUTION: A protein of the following (a) or (b) is provided: (a) a protein composed of a specific amino acid sequence derived from the genus Bacillus; and (b) a protein composed of an amino acid sequence in which one or two or more amino acids are deleted, substituted or added in the amino acid sequence of (a) and having an alkaline protease activity; and further, a gene encoding the protein. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
