PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a map for showing the location of a field engineer close to a visit place in an easy-to-see state as to a map selecting device which selects a map including the location of the field engineer who maintains and inspects facilities such as an elevator of a building.

SOLUTION: An in-area field engineer retrieval part 202 specifies field engineers present in a specified retrieval object area including a visit place inputted through a visit place input part 201, an essential display field engineer extraction part 205 selects essentially displayed field engineer to be included in an optimum map without fail when the number of the field engineers meets a specified condition, and an optimum map selection part selects an optimum map which includes them and becomes the most enlarged display.
