PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems wherein a conventional air conditioner included in a cabin of a vehicle has a fan, an evaporator, and a heater assembled in a case in a longitudinally linear shape, capacity of each device must be set large and large installation space is required in the cabin for achieving a certain cooling or heating efficiency, and the cooling (heating) efficiency decreases in the compact constitution. SOLUTION: When the present air conditioner 3 included in the cabin of the vehicle is installed between an outer roof 1A and an inner roof, the case 30 of the air conditioner 3 is formed in a laterally long shape, fans 31 are disposed on the right and left sides in the case, the evaporator 32 is disposed in a central part, and the heater 33 is disposed in the other side section obliquely while their longitudinal positions are partially overlapped. Air exhausting ports 35f and 35r are disposed in the front surface and rear surface of the case, and one air exhausting port 35f exhausts air having passed only through the evaporator as it is.
