PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar-coding device for quickly and accurately bar-coding the typed or handwritten information recorded on a sample case such as a test tube. SOLUTION: This bar-coding device comprises a sample case holder 100 for holding a case 1 for a sample, a holder conveying device 10 for conveying the sample case holder, sensors 21, 22, 23 for detecting that the sample case holder 100 is conveyed to a specific position, conveyance temporary stopping mechanisms 31, 32, 33 operated on the basis of the output of the sensors and temporarily stopping the conveyance of the sample case holder 100, a rotation control mechanism 50 for rotating the temporarily stopped sample case holder 100 on a holder shaft center, an electronic camera 43 for photographing the recorded information recorded on the sample case 1 held by a rotated and controlled sample case holder 100, and a bar code creating device 71 for creating the bar code information S corresponding to the recorded information.
