PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relieve burden on a subject in photographing in a picture imaging unit for the breasts. SOLUTION: A bending part 4a which is bent approximately along the front surface shape of the chest wall 9 of the subject is arranged at the part of a photographing stand 4 where the chest wall 9 of the subject is in contact with the photographing stand 4 and the photographing stand 4 is thereby smoothly brought into contact with the chest wall 9. In photographing, a solid object detector 10 is moved to approach a sidewall inner surface 4b at the side of the chest wall 9 in a case 4 by a moving means 70, so that the picture of an area to a part near the chest wall 9 is imaged. In reading, the solid object detector 10 is moved to be separated from the sidewall inner surface 4b at the side of the chest wall 9 by the moving means 70. Then an electrostatic latent image is read so as to prevent interference with the bending part 4a during the scanning of a reading exposure light source part 20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
