PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas washing apparatus which can be installed easily in a cylindrical frame by making the structure of this apparatus compact and is constituted so that the change of the upper and lower limits of the water level can be detected surely. SOLUTION: A liquid level detecting means 90 of this apparatus for detecting the upper and lower limits of the liquid level of a liquid A is provided with a float 91 which floats on the liquid level and moves vertically according to the change of the liquid level, an upper limit liquid level sensor part 92 which rises together with the float 91 only when the float 91 moves upward and detects the upper limit of the liquid level and a lower limit liquid level sensor part 93 which descends together with the float 91 only when the float 91 moves downward and detects the lower limit of the liquid level.
