Reverse gear for a connecting rod closure (1) comprises a gearbox casing (2) into which sections of two connecting rods (4, 5) protrude. The connecting rods are coupled to each other by a force-transfer device which can be reversed about 180degrees so that linear movement of one of the two connecting rods in one direction drives the other connecting rod in the opposite direction. The force-transfer device has a number of force-transfer elements (6) that are displaceably arranged in the form of two continuous rows in a 180degrees guide (7) of the gearbox casing. Preferred Features: The force-transfer elements are designed as cylindrical thrust bodies lying against each other.
