PURPOSE: A broadcasting signal receiver having a conditional access function and a conditional access method are provided to adaptively interrupt output of a digital broadcasting signal to which conditional access has been set. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting signal receiver(200) includes an input unit(205), an antenna(210), a tuner(220), a demultiplexer(230), a decoder(240), an analog interface(250), a digital interface(260), an OSD processor(270), a storage unit(280), and a controller(290). The input unit has a plurality of operation buttons used for transmitting a channel select signal and user authentication information to the controller and function keys. The antenna receives a plurality of digital broadcasting signals. The tuner tunes a channel previously set by a user. The demultiplexer demultiplexes a tuned digital broadcasting signal to output the demultiplexed signal to the decoder and the digital interface. The decoder decodes the tuned digital broadcasting signal to convert the signal into an analog broadcasting signal. The analog interface provides a transmission interface for transmitting the analog broadcasting signal to an analog cathode ray tube. The digital interface transmits the tuned digital broadcasting signal to an external digital broadcasting system. |
