There is provided a rotating anode X-ray tube capable of efficiently discharging intense heat generated when X-rays are generated and achieving a high output power, a long-time continuous operation and a long operating life of the bearings. A rotating anode X-ray tube 1 is provided with a target 3, a rotor 5, a shaft 6, rolling bearings 7 and 7 and a bearing housing 8 for supporting the rolling bearings 7 and 7. An accommodating section 10 for accommodating Ga or Ga alloy is defined by a center portion of the shaft 6 and an inner surface of the bearing housing 8 between the rolling bearings 7 and 7.
