Heat exchanger for a heating device comprises a base body (11) having channel-like recesses (23) in its outer wall (12) surrounded by a separate casing (20) so that the outer wall of the base body forms a liquid channel for the liquid to be heated. At least one seal (30) is formed on a burner-side (13) and an exhaust gas-side end section (14) between the base body and the casing. The casing has in the region of the seal a deformation (33) acting by a pressure force on the seal. Preferred Features: The seal is arranged within a groove (26, 27) having a depth so that the seal is radially recessed in the groove and the deformation at least partly engages in the groove.
