Method and device for production of a shaped model, in particular for automotive body parts

CAD is used to prepare an area model. Frame contours are produced from sections (1) in the CAD system, using a suitable program. Frames (2) are produced in the CAD system with plug-in slots, fastening provisions and further positioning aids (as parameters). Physical frames (2) are made from steel sheet using the parameters. The frames are connected as a three-dimensional framework corresponding with the sections (1). A support- or reinforcement grid (5) is fastened to the framework. Modeling paste (6) is spread onto the grid. The hardened modeling paste is finished, to produced the required final state of the model.
