System and method for automated communication among a plurality of vehicles

Each of vehicles on a motorway is equipped with a short-range communication system for receiving and transmitting messages, an activation device for the messages, a display and an electronic processing and control device. The latter can forward received message, generate and forward the activated message during the activation process, and display the message as information to the driver. A satellite based positioning system is further provided within a single unit, which also enables calculation of toll charge (Electronic Toll Collection). Independent claims are also included for a method of automated communication and a computer program for performing processing and control functions.
