PURPOSE: A method for obtaining a MIN(Mobile Identification Number) area in a DSC exchange is provided to use both three-digit and four-digit prefix by adding a standby processing command language to a DSC exchange. CONSTITUTION: When a SMHP(Signaling Message Handling Processor) of an HLR(Home Location Register) receives a request for translation of a phone number from an SMHP of an exchange, it allocates a translation command language of 'next'(S10). The SMHP of the HLR sequentially translates a phone number of three-digit prefix(S20). The SMHP of the HLR determines whether there is a fourth digit in the prefix to be translated next(S30). If there is a fourth digit to be translated, the SMHP of the HLR allocates a 'standby' translation command language(S40). The SMHP of the HLR temporarily stores the phone number of the three-digit prefix and at the same time translates the fourth digit, and stores it(S50). The SMHP of the HLR determines whether the phone number of the three-digit prefix and a phone number of the four-digit prefix have been registered in the HLR(S60). If the phone number of the three-digit prefix has been registered but not the phone number of the four-digit prefix, the SMHP of the HLR sets the phone number of the four-digit prefix as a registration-standby phone number(S70). |
