<p>Metal complexes (I) of a tris-azo dye, comprising a 2-(4-(arylazo)-2-hydroxy, 2-alkoxy-, 2-carboxy- or 2-sulfo-phenylazo)-7-(het)arylazo-1-naphthol (II), are new. Metal complexes (I) of a tris-azo dye, comprising a 2-(4-(arylazo)-2-hydroxy, 2-alkoxy-, 2-carboxy- or 2-sulfo-phenylazo)-7-(het)arylazo-1-naphthol of formula (II), are new: [Image] R1>aryl with one or more R substituent(s); R : hydroxy (OH), OR', OR'-COOM, OR'-SO3M, OR, R', COOM, SO3M, SO2NH2, SO2NR2, SO2NHR', SO2NR'2, NH2, NHR', NH-acyl, NH-aryl, NR2, NR'2 and halogen; R' : 1-6 carbon (C) alkyl; R : 1-6C hydroxyalkyl; R2>OH, OR, COOM or SO3M; R3>, R4>, R5>hydrogen (H) or R; R6>1- or 2-ring carbocyclic or heterocyclic aromatic group, optionally with OH, OR', OR'-COOM, OR'SO3M, OR, R', COOM, SO3M, SO2NH2, CONH-phenyl, SO2NH-phenyl, SO2N(1-5C hydroxyalkyl)2, SO2NHR', SO2NR'2, NH2, NHR', NH-acyl, NH-aryl, NR2, NR'2, halogen and phenylsulfo substituent(s), or similarly substituted pyrazole or pyridone group; M : H, a monovalent metal cation, one equivalent of a multivalent metal cation, ammonium or (hydroxy)alkyl- or alkoxyalkyl-ammonium. Independent claims are also included for: (a) preparation of metal complexes (I); and (b) recording fluids containing metal complex dye(s) (I).</p> |
