PURPOSE: An apparatus for measuring a heart rate and respiration by using a non-restraint method without lowering sensitivity is provided to enhance accuracy of measurement by using inductance and capacitance in a sensor, varied according to the heat rate and the respiration. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for measuring a heart rate and respiration includes a sensor and a measurement circuit. The sensor(2) is pressed by human body. The measurement circuit is used for measuring the heart rate and the respiration by using the output of the sensor. The sensor includes a coil member having elasticity. The measurement circuit includes an LC oscillation circuit(3) and a calculation processing circuit(4). The LC oscillation circuit uses an inductance component and a capacitance component of the coil member as a coil and a capacitor for oscillation. The calculation processing circuit is used for detecting a variation of oscillation frequencies of the LC oscillation circuit and calculating physiological data according to the heart rate and the respiration.
