PURPOSE: An apparatus for automatically correcting position of coil on coil conveyor is provided to prevent the coil from overturning as position of the coil is being deflected by automatically centering the center of skids to the center of the coil when position where coil being moved is rested on an upper part of fixed skids of the coil conveyor is lopsided. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a coil alignment means comprising a pair of movable skids(11) constructed by installing traveling wheels(25) on a lower part of a pair of left and right fixed skids selected from a plurality of fixed skids(1) fixed onto skid bed(30), skid moving cylinders(13) axially connected to a side surface part of the movable skids, and skid position sensors(12) attached to a side part of the cylinders to sense moving distance of cylinder rod of the cylinders; and a coil position sensing means comprising a side to side moving screw(20) installed in front of the skid bed on which the coil alignment means is installed with the side to side moving screw being connected to bearing blocks(19), a moving base(16) connected to the side to side moving screw by gear, a laser position sensor(12) fixed onto an upper part of the moving base by support(24), a driving motor(17) fixed to the side to side moving screw with being axially connected to the side to side moving screw, and a sensor(18) connected to rotation shaft of the driving motor.
